Considerations Before Installing Solar Panels
A few factors must be considered before installing a solar panel system. We have to choose among diverse solar cells with different efficiency rates and prices. For the installation of solar panels it is important to select a panel kit that is adequate for the purpose intended, i.e. for roofs or vehicles.
What Kind of Solar Panel Do You Need?
For certain applications it is important to use thin and flexible solar panels. If a roof cannot carry a heavy load a thin film solar panel might be the right choice. For smaller applications where only a small amount of electricity is required or not enough space available, small solar panels will be adequate.
The installation of a solar panel may be on ground, on top of a roof or as integration into the roof or walls of a building. A number of solar panels are arranged in a solar array. Depending on the planned size of a photovoltaic installation a solar array can consist of a few solar panels or be up to much bigger dimensions.
Not only solar panels and arrays can be installed as a solar panel system. Other systems like solar tubes or solar shingles use the photoelectric effect to produce power. In regard to efficiency, these solar pv systems are not as productive as solar panels and can be more expensive.
